I was wondering if any of yours myuw site loaded the unofficial transcript page.
I sent my appeal letter 3 weeks ago and until tuesday i didn't get any emails from UW.
i mean i still didn't get one.

but my unofficial transcript page loaded on tuesday for the first time;
my student ID ,the class : freshman , major: A&S were there.
( i 've read a thread that if unofficial transcript loads, that means i'm accepted but..idk)

i still don't know if I got in or not because on my first myuw page,
it just says "thank you for applying to uw" not.. "congrats"

so i was wondering if people who sent appeal letters to UW have the same situation as me.

International students will get an email, and US resident will get a snail mail.

Hello, I got an email today saying that my appeal for admission has been approved and my unofficial transcript loaded. However, my admission status hasn’t change. I was wondering did yours changed?

I mailed my Appeal on the 20th, and got an email saying they received it on the 26th. How long did it take you to find out? and were you coming off waitlist or rejection?

I sent on Monday and they said they got it today!
Congratz to you @dkWkwndsk, you probably got in if your unofficial transcript loaded. Also people that have gotten in by normal admission still haven’t gotten their Seattle UW application to update to “congratulations…” You’re probably in!

Good luck to everyone else and myself. :)

This thread was from last year.

My friends who appealed between Spring 2010-2012 found out within 2-3 weeks (appeal approved/acceptances). All were rejections.

Good luck to you guys!

Are you saying they were rejections and they successfully appealed? Or that their appeals got rejected?

I think he’s saying that their appeals were rejected.

Sorry, that made sense in my head when I originally posted!

They were originally rejected admissions. They successfully appealed. They are now students at UW.

That gives me SO much hope! Do you have any idea what the acceptance rate of appeals is? I’ve heard 4%, but that seems so depressing and low.

I don’t know - I’ve actually never heard of a specific acceptance rate for appeals. I was under the impression that admissions looks at each appeal on an individual basis, so the percentage of successful appeals so it differs every year.

I wrote up a pdf a few years ago that my friends used (+placid, who is also at UW now!) as a guideline for their appeals. I last updated it in 2011, so very specific information might be out of date (phone numbers, dates, etc), but it might provide some more insight about the process. PM me or leave a message on my profile if you want a copy (I don’t check threads enough to keep track of who would like to see it).

I actually already got this from you, but dropbox just says error when I try to open it! Thanks though!

Oh, shoot. I moved around the docs in my dropbox and that must have been part of it. Let me resend the link to you. Sorry about that!

@speedsolver I was hoping you could send me the pdf as well and maybe take a look at my letter whenever you have time?

That’s cool that your helping people speedsolver. :)

@speedsolver- Could you please send a pdf to me also? Thanks!

@speedsolver- Can I also get the pdf from you as well? Thank you

Anyone know the deadline for appeal?

There isn’t really a deadline, but you gotta get it in as soon as possible since it says it will take them up to 3-4 weeks after you sent it to be notified. May 1st is the day that you have to make a decision on school… So if you haven’t already sent one… you should do it today.

What if you get your appeal approved after paying for a different school? Does that mean you have to attend that school or do you just lose the couple hundred bucks you paid?
