For those who have recieved thier finanical aid......

Well I have two brothers already in college so maybe that makes a difference?

Well, we received the information this morning and it was about 3500 more than what the fiinancial calculator predicted. About 2000 more for our part and about 1500 more for daughters part.

Although I wish it has been closer to the calculator, 3500 more isn’t a deal breaker. In fact, I was actually surprised how little we were going to have to contribute according to the calculator so this still isn’t too bad. And since I’m no longer working and our estimate came from our 1040 were I was still working, the final amount might be even less.

So i guess my daughter will be traveling over 1000 miles from home to attend Cornell  .I’ve discovered that it is possible to be happy and sad at the same time, lol.

With three kids in college at the same time will make a huge difference. The asset must be low. With 10k contribution, plus 7.5 k loan each year, it is not too bad.
