For thoses in Southern California(charter school in SD)

If you live in the San Diego county area you probably heard of High Tech High right. How is High Tech High different than most high schools I know they don't have AP classes and that you have to start Algebra(in 9th) and Geometry(10th) again if you already taken those courses. I checked their website though getting outside feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody heard about this school

All I know is they do lots of projects instead of tests.

Do you think it gives their students a disadvantage by refusing to admit AP classes. Or do you think their style is comparable to AP classes.

OP - there are huge differences from one charter school to another, it truly is an open market. Some are exceptionally good - others tend to serve a subset of students who struggled in traditional schools. Find out where their graduates have been accepted, find out what their SAT/ACT scores are like, if this doesn’t fit with your hopes and aspirations, look elsewhere.

I think that if you live in a nice area it would be better to go to your local school and if not then HTH would be a good choice.
I personally know three people who go there and two seem to have “issues” of some sort not sure if they are learning or social- probably a little of both and the third goes because he is the sibling of one of the other two. So… but I have no idea so don’t base your decision off of the three people I know.

if you want post the initials of the high school you would be attending and I will judge but again I am definitely not all knowing.

ok I am plannnng to attend Sweetwater union high school

can you judge that school
