For USC this year, are the major scholarships (full and half tuition) only for US citizens?

For past years, I’ve seen that these scholarships select from an “international pool”, however on this doc this year, it says “Candidates are selected by USC faculty and staff from an extremely competitive NATIONAL pool. Applicants pursue the most demanding curriculum and achieve at the highest level.” and “Average SAT and ACT scores are in the top 1 to 2 percent of all students NATIONWIDE. In addition to academic criteria, candidates’ talent, perseverance, innovation, involvement and leadership are considered.” Here is the PDF for reference: https://admission.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/USC-Scholarships.pdf

Just wanted to confirm I was reading this right.

@menloparkmom knows the answer.

@menloparkmom ??

I’ll check with my resource. stay tuned

@sushi48,
The International Academic Freshman scholarships still exist and are listed, as they always have been, below the National Merit Presidential Scholarships on the Scholarship pdf.

@thumper1 @menloparkmom @sushi48 I know an international student that received the Trustees so apparently yes, they can still get them. Perhaps that was changed for going forward and it will be “National” next year’s cycle???

^^ I sent an email to my source asking that question.
Hope to have an answer soon.

My source say the following-
“There were absolutely no changes in our merit scholarship policy this year, and there are no changes planned for next year either. International students absolutely received Trustee and Presidential Scholarships this year, and they were also well-represented in the recipient pools of the other scholarship programs as well. I really don’t have an answer about the change in verbiage on that PDF. It’s amazing how closely folks watch this stuff.”
So no need to worry if you are an International applicant.
