And for us parents who keep telling ourselves that we're NOT really helicopter parents....

I found from nosing around on other parts of CC that the telephone grades are available for May's AP tests. $8 for the call, regardless of how many tests were taken.

1-888-308-0013

I recommend getting your kid's OK before making the call....luckily I had prior approval and I made D's day with my phone call with her grades!

It means a total of 58 hours of credit for her at University of Maryland, with her grades on all the AP tests she took in h.s. Another parent's vote for public state universities!!!!

I admit it. I called. The college he's attending next fall doesn't even GIVE credit for the particular exams he took last month. And I STILL called -- I obviously need a 12-step program or something . . .

I called. My son just registered for freshman classes last week, and banked on not having to take frosh composition, depending on his AP Lang/Comp score. So he was sitting on pins and needles hoping not to go back and have to drop/add which would have been a real pain. All is well!!

I will confess I read the rumors that the scores were coming out yesterday...when I got home yesterday afternoon, I told DS1 they were up and he called to get his scores. He was quite happy.

My son doesn't care about the AP scores, but he wants his ACT score from the June 9 testing. Still no scores even though the web site says June 19-21.

Ricegal, our son's ACT score from Feb. was taking a reallllly long time to arrive, so I finally called them and got a real person on the phone. Turns out there was no house number listed on the address. So it was mailed and then returned to sender. They corrected the address and resent it. Maybe something like that happened with your son's score report.

Ridiculousness here. Called the number shortly after 4 p.m., with son's permission. He really wants/needs (yes, both) to know these 4 scores b/c he skipped 11th grade so took some key tests in May that could change how he pre-registers for college freshman year. Freshman online enrolment is in mid-July and he hopes to do it right the first time and not get into any "8 a.m. classes" which is what the student out there told him is the worst thing that can happen when you register late.
The AP phone system wouldn't take his social security number as accurate and said there is no record of him in the system.
I questioned him about it, as he was working all day today moving furniture for the big bucks. Apparently the way he signed in to the AP's through the school they don't want you to use a Soc Sec Number if at any time previously you didn't, as it mixes up their system, so he didn't.
The alternative to the SSN is a registration number from the AP student packet. Foolishly he tossed that away when he cleaned out some papers in celebration of finishing h.s. and the college search process.
Customer service reps are on hand until 4 p.m. So, tomorrow if he's not called in to work, he'll try to get past it by phone; otherwise I'll have to back him up. Doesn't seem the kind of call to make while moving a piano, but I might have him do it anyway during his lunch. Ah heck I'll do this one, I know I will.
So what do you think they'll want of him--some proof that he's him? I hope it works out so he knows his scores. He feels he did well on most of them but
above all wants to get into some better courses thanks to them. Also at the school he's going to, he'll actually get credits towards graduation.
I thought I was DONE with this but it's come back to suck me back down again...noooooo!!!!
Advice or guesses for tomorrow's call welcome, if anyone's done this maneuver before.

You might try calling his school to see if there is some way they can give you his AP #.
I can't imagine someone giving out that kind of info over the phone without any ID at all- either SS # or AP #.
I don't understand why he didn't have his SS # on the test. I thought all the CB tests ask for your social.

paying3tuitions: Not to worry. Same experience here. Son used AP No. as the identifier on his tests, and the system didn't recognize his Soc. Sec. No. when I tried to access scores for him. He's out of the country and believes he tossed the packet that included his AP No. I called AP customer service this AM, and after jumping through a few reasonable hoops (name, address, birth date, etc.) received his AP number. I was then immediately able to access his scores.

P3T, I was able to get the AP pack number for DS2 -- he was at work 'til after 5:00. Just had to provide reasonable info. DS2 hasn't memorized his SSN, so I know it wouldn't have been on his scoresheet. He called to get the actual score.

My daughter is at dance intensive for 5 weeks and thought that she had better ways to spend $8 (even though she's reasonably confident she got a 5)--she said she'll wait for it in the mail (like last year).

oregonianmom: I'm looking for the early scores on line. The mailed ones aren't supposed to be out until July. At this rate, though, the mailed ones will be here before the online ones. Son calls home every Saturday and is hoping I will have them by this Saturday, but looks like not.
