Forbes 2017

So based on the new rankings from Forbes, is Pomona the top ranking LAC? I know when the school posted something about one of the recent rankings that placed Pomona first among all colleges, there was a firestorm of backlash from students, not wanting the college to attract those students who chased prestige to be #1.

At any rate, I still believe Pomona should be ranked above the first 9. Can anyone identify the piece in the formula that makes those research universities rate higher?

Yeah, Pomona is the top ranking LAC. For your last question, they doubled the weight of salaries (from 2 questionable data sources). That’s why Harvey Mudd/CMC/top universities shot up at the expense of other schools.

Here’s a link to the Forbes top LAC-only list. I like Scripps but question having it ranked about Wellesley.

@nostalgicwisdom I’d be curious to hear your take on John Seery’s piece that I linked to here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/2007879-burgeoning-administrative-bloat-at-lacs-somewhere-between-a-jeremiad-a-eulogy-p1.html.

^^thanks for sharing @Corinthian. Scripps is above Wellesley and Vassar on this list, and Pitzer is way down the list and separated from the other 5C’s, seemingly too far down.
