You could reach out and ask tomorrow. The way I understood the website is that it is rolling admission. We fell in the priority performance time frame so depending on when you applied, it may influence your notification date.
@VaTheatreMom2020 that was really helpful and reassuring information. Thank you!
Should I email admissions or the theater department about my decision? @VaTheatreMom2020
We haven’t heard either. D auditioned in Chicago unified. I guess we wil wait and see. For those who have heard, did you receive financial aid/merit info as well?
Yes, we received the financial package at the same time. He had to log on to a different portal to access that information.
Best of luck to those still waiting to hear. This was his first “audition” acceptance so it was a huge relief. He is still waiting to hear from several schools . . . I hate this waiting game!
Oops @3boyzmama is totally right. There is a separate log in and the package is there.
For those with acceptances, can you confirm which portal you found out on? S keeps checking the portal where he uploaded his material and also shows what hey have received from S HS as far as transcripts ect…
They send an email out saying the decision is on the applicant portal.
Any one else heard yet?
FYI, my S received the “Your admission decision from Fordham University and the Theatre Program will be posted on your Online Applicant Portal as of 7:00 p.m. EST …” e-mail at 6:55 p.m. last Thursday.
Let’s hope Thursdays are their announcement dates and everyone still waiting hears good news!!!
@hopefullgal nothing here.
It just kills me because I think everyone who heard last Thursday got in. No signs of rejections. So how many acceptances could they have to hand out… @3boyzmama @4gsmom
Good question. I guess we just wait and see…
I do think it may have to do with the priority application date. On their website they outline some dates that suggest if you applied by a certain date you would hear a bit earlier. My S applied prior to that date and was one of the ones that heard last Thursday. That may explain the difference?
My S applied January 6th before their January 11th “extended” deadline. I believe my S still has a friend waiting to hear as well.
It is worrisome because from what I have seen everyone who has heard has gotten accepted. So my fear is that the there is no more acceptances to give… ugh just stressing @4gsmom @3boyzmama
@hopefullgal I’m pulling for you! I really don’t know how they handle the entire process but the fact that you have not received a denial must mean something! Otherwise, why wouldn’t they just accept, deny and wait list at the same time? My S’s friend has not heard anything as well. I also do not know how many they admit for first year. Does anyone on this thread?
We haven’t heard anything either…
@hopefullgal I totally get the nerves from the waiting. If it is helpful to know, my S applied priority performance which required applications be submitted by November 1. Priority performance applications had earlier notification dates in the rolling cycle. Fordham does say upfront they are a school that does rolling admissions (unlike say CMU that releases decisions on a single day). I truly suspect the rolling part is driven by the academic admissions department, not the theatre department. Schools vary so much in this area and it may have nothing to do with how the theatre department makes decisions.
None of that takes away the frustration of waiting. I just wanted you to know there may not be as much to the early notification to some kids as you might fear. I am sure they hold spots for kids who did their applications non-priority, I hope good news is right around the corner for you and everyone waiting.
thank you guys. I am just a very stressed out student who hasn’t heard from any theatre schools yet, which means I have no back up. But all your words very much calmed me down. Also I asked and I believe they take just under 100 theatre kids. @VaTheatreMom2020 @3boyzmama
