Fordham alums–question for you:

I’m seriously considering Fordham. I applied EA, and I get my decision in a little over a month. I visited RH last week, and I LOVE the campus.

I just have a small concern: how much of Fordham RH is made up of commuter students? I’m from Chicago, so I would obviously be living on campus with only a few trips home every year. I don’t think that I want a campus where no one lives on campus or where everyone packs up and leaves every weekend to go home. I read somewhere that almost half of RH is commuter students. Is this true? Would I be out of place?

Jillwill, I think you have a very good shot. Just wondering, Is Fordham your first choice?

Aleeroz, I’d say about 60% live on campus. However, that still amounts to 3,000 students living on campus (a good amount for the campus of that size), and the campus/residence halls are pretty much filled to capacity, so you should definitely not worry about being alone on campus - there will be plenty of students around you. There are some local students that prefer to go home over the weekends, but I don’t think you will be out of place. Plus there are a lot of of students at Fordham from out of state big cities like LA, Chicago, Boston, so it’s a very geographically diverse campus.
