Hey guys. I just got accepted into Fordham, my number one school. I was so happy, until discovering that i accidentally applied to the Lincoln Center Campus, as oppsed to Rose Hill, where I actually want to go. I am flipping out, and already emailed my guidance counselor, but I was wondering if you guys could offer any help in this situation? I don't know how I missed that when I sent in my EA application, and I feel sick to my stomach right now. I can't believe I was so stupid. If you guys can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

This happens. They can accommodate changes. Email admissions immediately and explain what happened and that you want to attend Rose Hill and will be accepting their offer of admission. They WONT do this if you are indecisive and are waiting on other offers. They will ONLY do it if you commit to Fordham and foresake all others.

Its really about reslife and dorm space but its fine. Just do it sooner than later and make your commitment and pay the deposit money.

I would say wait until you get your other acceptances and are 100% sure that you want to go to Fordham. You never know what kind of financial aid awards etc could come with other acceptances and so committing to one particular school this early in the game could hurt your chances. People make campus changes all the time at Fordham, even once they begin their academic career. The same stats are required for both campuses, so think of it this way - You’ve been accepted to the entire university. That means they want you and are probably willing to make changes. So I don’t think waiting a little while would hurt.

Hmmmm…be careful with that. While its not a bad idea to compare offers before you commit, it may be better to commit and get the transfer now (or a reasonable time after considering your options), because once the RD pool is in and admitted then its harder to change as dorm space is determined. Better to get in now and locked in. Just my two cents.

However, if the OP is not certain Fordham is his/her final choice by all means wait and see what happens with other schools.

I would call the admissions department right away and just tell them the truth (that Fordham is your top choice, you are thrilled to have been accepted, but that there must have been a mistake on your application and you want attend Fordham at the RH campus)…at this early point in the admissions cycle, I can’t imagine that it would be a problem to switch your acceptance to RH. It may not be easy to get through, but keep trying and perhaps send an to your admissions counselor email as well.
