I submitted my Fordham Choice application today, and for the essay, there was only one box in which to put my essay, so I just copied and pasted my essay from a Word document into the box. Not the prettiest, but everything seemed formatted correctly. After I clicked "submit" and saw what the actual app looked like, I saw my essay was one big paragraph, not what I originally had! How will Fordham read my essay like that? Should I contact admissions? Is this the way it was supposed to look?

There was no "upload Word document" button or something like with the Common App, right?

Oh man, I put my name and SS# at the start and in the middle of my essay! I thought when it said to do that, it was for if I was sending it electronically, and that there would be page breaks and such. So now I have one big blob with my SS# and name disrupting the flow of my essay. What should I do!?

That happened to me too, actually. I’m not freaking out though. I assume for “VIP” applicants they don’t put as much weight on the essay.

In any case, I sent an email to admissions, and they said that it’s okay, but if I wanted to send a properly formatted essay, I could, and that is what I did.
