Foreign language? Do I need it?

^^ Most schools require at least 2 years. Some of the top names that I applied to required 3-4 years (I only took 3, so I had to cross some of my reach schools off my list). Do your homework -- check the school websites and don't listen to "advice" without researching the facts.

Syntho, learning a foreign language is not just about learning to order a taco. It's also about learning about that culture, learning about people outside of your backyard. Part of the reason that colleges want you to take a foreign language is so that you understand a culture outside of your own and so you're not culturally ignorant.

yes, you need a foreign language. would i have taken french for three horrible years if I didn't need to?

Why me!!?!?!?! -Explicative- four years it is CC... hangs head in sorrow

Foreign language classes tend to be the highlight of my day; I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to take them. Not only is it an easy A, it looks really good on a r

Syntho-sis: The world is becoming more global - If I'm trying to hire someone and I see two people, both equally qualified but one can speak Spanish then I'm going to lean towards the bilingual guy..being versatile is very important. Now if the Spanish speaking guy can't do anything else I'm unlikely to hire him but the foreign language does help.

In today's world knowing another language or two is a must!
it's super duper competitive!

If you don't like Spanish just take another Language, like German or Japanese
