@momofmusician17 , that is very impressive! Thank you for sharing.
@2018Summer2018 - If you have any questions about the online BYU program, let me know.
@momofmusician17 , thank you! I was looking at online BYU classes and would definitely sign up - but only after I figure out everything with our HS. I really want my child to study another language - not what our HS offers…
Has your child considered one of the State Department scholarships? Being that he/she is interested in languages that are not usually offered in high school, I believe it would be a great idea to explore these options. There is the NSLY scholarship for languages deemed to be critical by the US State Department (arabic, mandarin, korean, turkish, swahili, hindi, etc…) as well as the YES scholarship to study in a predominantly muslim country (Bosnia, Morocco, Phillipines, Indonesia, etc…). One of my daughters recently returned from Germany where she participated in the 3rd scholarship offered to high schoolers by the State Department and the German Parliament. It is called CBY or Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. She spent a year living with a host family and attending a german gymnasium and we did not pay a dime. Airfare to and from Germany was included.
@idiomas , that is really cool! Thank you.
