I've heard that there is a three year requirement in a single foreign language for freshman admission.

What if my high school only offered two? Will they automatically throw my application out or consider it nonetheless?

Maybe Williams would allow me to just take language in college?

Three years of a single foreign language may be generally recommended, but is not, to my knowledge, a requirement for admissions. If two years is all that is offered at your high school, your counselor should explain this in his/her recommendation.

Unlike many other selective colleges Williams doesn’t ask firstyears to demonstrate language proficiency and there is no language element in the distribution requirement.
