Forgot to List a Community College I Enrolled in on UC APP

Hi guys!

A couple of days after submitting the UC app (12/3/2016), I realized I forgot to list Canada College for Summer 2016 and Fall 2016.

How do I correct this mistake? Do I email the UCs? What is the likelihood of them allowing me to correct my mistake?

I am pretty terrified right now because I really want to transfer by next fall.

I am not 100% sure on the following, so hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.

From what I have learned, you will update your application with your grades from Fall '16 at some point before the decision. I believe at that time you will also have an opportunity to make changes to your application. The priority application deadline was November 30th, but I believe some majors at some campuses have an extended deadline of January 3rd so hopefully that will not impact you. Good luck.

From the UC Website:
After applying, transfer students are required to update their grades and course records.

You must provide your final grades from the previous term and list all courses in progress or planned for the term before you expect to enroll. Your updates will ensure UC campuses have the most current academic information available.

Fall term 2017

If you applied for fall quarter/semester 2017, you must provide us with a list of courses completed in fall 2015 and associated grades, as well as your planned coursework through summer 2017.

Even if you do not have any in-progress or planned courses and your record of course grades was complete in your original application, you must log in to your application and complete the Transfer Academic Update.

The priority deadline for the Transfer Academic Update site is Jan. 31, 2017.

But I would also email each campus now and save any correspondence.

@icuzns Don’t rely on academic update, you won’t be able to add a school, that was not originally listed, there. I was in a similar situation last year, so I emailed them. They asked for dates of attendance and a transcript (unofficial). Don’t worry, most likely this won’t affect your chances at all - I was still admitted to 4/6 UCs I applied to. Good luck!

Thank you guys for the helpful replies; they are much appreciated.

The docs email got back to me, saying,
"University
Of
California

Dear Student,

Thank you for contacting the UC Application center.

Your submission will be entered into the system and made viewable to the campuses to which you have applied. If you have any additional application updates, please forward them to us for review."

Does anyone know how long they take to update my application?

@icuzns They most likely won’t make any visible changes to your application, but they will take a note of everything that you have submitted. I would advise that you call each individual UC in a few weeks just to confirm that they received this update. Once again, don’t worry, I received almost exactly the same email last year, you will be fine

Ah, I see. Should I contact them a few days before or after the TAU? Will it matter?

Thanks again.

@lenocturne

@icuzns It should not matter. I am sure all schools will receive this update within a few business days, but I would give them a week or two just to be on the safe side.
