I need help! I just submitted my transfer app to Brown today and realized that I forgot to sign the last page (section 3 personal statement). I’m planning on calling the admission office tomorrow and asking them what to do… has this ever happened to anyone else here? I hope I don’t have to rewrite all of those hand written essays of mine! And I doubly hope that this will not reflect poorly on my application as a whole. Please, somebody, tell me your thoughts!

why would you handwrite ur essays in the first place?

yes, i would call them ASAP.

Brown's transfer app is either typed (with a typewriter) or handwriten. They have no online app. I chose to handwrite because I don't own a typewriter. Also, I believe handwriting adds a certain degree of personality that typing does not.

send them an email. I was in the same situation last year. I forgot to sign my application, but it wasn't a big deal. I don't think your chance of acceptance is hurt just because you made that mistake. I got in, and am currently attending.

Brown loves handwriting, or so I heard. 6 years ago when ComAps were still new, the AdCom came out to the meeting and talked about how they wanted to make sure you wrote an essay especially for Brown. Not that handwriting guarantees it, but they were just making the point that they didn't want to see copies of your efforts for other schools.
At that time, they wouldn't even allow a typewritten copy, so I guess now they offer a choice. Figure they still love handwriting.
My S composed his (yes, original and just for Brown) on his wordprocessor and then paintstakingly rewrote it by hand onto their lined form.
He got waitlisted and went to Amherst.

yeah... handwriting is a pain... i wish they had an online application!!
