<p>Former Middlebury President, John McCardell, has decided to take a position as president of Sewanee: University of the South. </p>
<p>McCardell was one of the best presidents at Middlebury. Under his leadership Middlebury significantly improved its infrastructure and increased its endowment. </p>
<p>This news was particularly significant to me since McCardell became president while I was a student and because my girlfriend is a Sewanee graduate.</p>
