I have two questions about the Foundation Fellowship at UGA. First, is there a separate application that I would need to fill out in addition to the normal freshman app? Second, if I were to receive the scholarship, but chose not to attend UGA, would that scholarship be offered to another student or would it just be lost?

Yes, there’s a very extensive separate application that needs to be filled out. Check the honors program website for the application. It’s kind of fun though and they’ve redesigned it recently so that I think it’s one of the better applications out there for really showing “what you’re like” as opposed to being a standard application form.

It depends- there are usually a small number of “alternates” each year that get the scholarship if enough people decline.

Thanks for the info :)

Hi, I have a question about the UGA Foundation Fellows scholarship if you’d be so kind to answer. I noticed that quite a few people have been saying how much a “passion” is important on the FF application. I don’t really know, however, if I have this “passion” for which the UGA admissions office is looking. I mean, I tutor kids weekly, play a musical instrument, and am involved in a volunteer organization in which I have a leadership position. I am planning to go on a mission trip next Spring Break. Also, I am interning at a research lab this summer. Would any of these be considered a passion? Thanks and I hope to hear back from you!
