Hello, I’m scheduled to take four classes this summer but I’ve been debating lately. I don’t know if its a good idea. All classes I am taking are 12 weeks to 16 weeks. Any suggestions?
The University of Alaska- Fairbanks: Linear Algebra
Penn State University: Understanding Weather forecasting
UIUC (NetMath): Partial Differential Equations (If you have any questions about NetMath let me know since I took ODE last summer and it went great)
LSU through continuing education: Probability (debating)
This seems like a lot. I would tend to select the ones that you are the most interested in.
Does probability have calculus as a prerequisite? You might want to wait on this one. Personally I loved probability and then later stochastic processes. However, only had one (very good) probability class as an undergrad and was into graduate school before I started taking multiple classes in this area.
What are the prerequisites for understanding weather forecasting? I am guessing that this would use a lot of math and computers but I really do not know.
You will forever be requesting 5 (or more?) transcripts whenever you are asked for a transcript. That alone would have me sticking with one or two schools for classes. Does Buffalo not offer these classes? Will it accept them all for credit?
I’ve started college since Fall 2014, and transfer to a four year in Fall 2017 as a chemistry major. It wasn’t until Fall 2018 when I realized math was my passion so I changed majors.
Now, I’m two semesters away from graduating and it feels so good! My Journey has been a long one but I did it! I already have the calculus prerequisite. The weather forecasting does not have any prereq and is for my minor so I can complete it.
From what I heard, I only need to transfer all my credits to SUNY Albany and I just need to send my SUNY Albany transcript to Grad school. Buffalo offers Linear Algebra and Probability but, is six weeks instead of 12 or 16, which is something I would like to have. However, I want to learn the material and not get a FAKE grade like my friend did when he took Linear Algebra during the winter session and got A for not doing nothing. At SUNY Albany the math classes are taught in four weeks’ session during the summer.
Now he is happy that his Linear Algebra grade didn’t ruin his GPA.
I have decided to take just three:
The University of Alaska- Fairbanks: Linear Algebra
Penn State University: Understanding Weather forecasting
UIUC (NetMath): Partial Differential Equations (If you have any questions about NetMath let me know since I took ODE last summer and it went great)
