Anybody know why Fox tuition is significantly higher than any other Temple schools? Just stinks because if I got the presidential, the whole amount would have been covered (I’m assuming) but since i got provost its $18000 no matter what school. It’s will be about $8000 a year more out of pocket…
that does stink. Business school has more opportunities for students, that may be why. or maybe more expenditures to get those opportunities going.
8K more a year??? im hoping you’re out of state with that jump
One thing I don’t like about Temple is that it costs more for several majors. Our son is going to be in Film and Media, which will cost an extra $1K per year.
I agree and Temple doesn’t really make that fact well known. I had no idea a BFA at Temple would be an extra 5k more until my daughter got accepted, visited twice and we went on the TUportal. She loves it there, and would probably have gone either way, but I felt a little annoyed that we weren’t ever told at any of the tours.
It also looks like tuition is increasing a lot for the 2017-2018 year; but when I received the financial aid package it never gives an actual total price; I had to dig around on the portal and found their projected prices and it was up almost 10%
@BettyQ Fox tuition is always significantly higher than other schools at Temple, for this year out of state was approximately $8,000 more than the the less expensive Temple schools. I don’t think Fox tuition is going up 10% from last year to this year. I think you may be comparing Fox projected tuition for next year to the general University tuition from this year. Usually you can expect a 2.5% increase from year to year within the same school at Temple. Where on the portal did you find this projected 10% Fox increase?
I have no idea if this applies to Fox, but this is what I found…I had to copy and paste it, so sorry if it is hard to read…
If you look under the terms and conditions on the Portal you can see the estimated 2017/2018 rates; it loos like it’s going up…

@BettyQ yes, what you are looking the general (cheapest) tuition at Temple. That is not Fox. For 2016-2017 the exact amount I was billed for Fox Tuition per SEMESTER: $17,112 tuition, $445 University Services Fee. Per YEAR $34, 224 $890 University Services Fee. Expect around a 2.5% increase over that.
So, off topic question from your post…and I apologize, but do you think the other tuition (general) will be going up 6-7%, last year it was 26,376 (OOS), now it’s projected at $28,084??
Fox takes very, very good care of its students, to the point where you’d almost have to make an effort not to find success after graduation. I’m willing to bet that its higher tuition rates reflect that and the quality of its classes (all of which are taught in the new building, have better classroom technology/support services than other schools, integrate Fox’s top-notch professional development program at every opportunity, and great professors).
Declaring a major in a different school and a business minor might let you take Fox classes for cheaper. Not entirely sure, since I’ve got full tuition myself anyway, but it’s worth a shot. If they’ll allow you to switch into Fox later to pursue a business major, then that’ll make for some sweet savings.
