How hard is it to get a bid in a frat at UNC? Are UNC frats really selective or do most people end up getting bids?

Based upon my experience, it wasn’t so tough.

There are 20-something fraternities here. If you rush at enough places and make a real effort to meet a lot of the brothers at each one, there’s a strong possibility that you’ll get a bid somewhere. I do know people who haven’t received bids, but are people who have rushed casually. If you make the effort, you’ll get a bid (most likely).

Are most of the frats at UNC really southern?

Yes, this is a southern school.

But I think its not southern like Ole Miss, Alabama and LSU

That’s correct. Not nearly as socially dominate either.

Depends on the frat. Some are super southern and others are more laid back. Depends on what you want to get out of it.

But I wouldn’t worry about selectivity.

Just out of pure estimate, if you had 100 guys rushing, how many would get a bid and how many would not in a respectable fraternity at UNC? In other words how selective are the solid frats at UNC?

Are they not very selective?

Why the double thread?

How selective are the top to mid tier frats at UNC? How many kids get turned down

What do you mean by “top to mid tier”? I would be more concerned about finding a group of guys that I fit in with and like than getting caught up on a subjective label. And selectivity really varies by fraternity and by who/how many people you know in them.

The DKEs contact you if that’s a sign of how selective the top is.

Yeah I didn’t expect UNC frats do be as selective as some other schools

Not selective at all. add your name to ifc rush list when you come in summer…

I heard that some frats have 100 rushing and Give 30 people bids
