Freaking Out!!!

Can I get into Duke, Cornell, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Johns Hopkins, or Washington U. in St. Louis with my resume?? I'm really worried about my test scores, because they definitely don't reflect my academic abilities.

-ACT:29
-SAT:1850
-GPA: 3.9-4.0
-Ranked 4th in my class of 310
-Taken every single advanced/Honors/AP class offered at my school
-Been on the High Honor Roll/Honor Roll all through high school
-Recognized at my school's Academic Recognition Ceremony all 4 years (signifies that I've been on the Honor Roll all year"
-Won an Academic M award (signifies that I've maintained a 3.5 GPA thru H.S.)
-Played soccer 4 years; Varsity 3, Junior Varsity 1
-Won the West Shore Conference Sportsmanship Award
-Play indoor soccer in the winter
-Play rec league soccer in the spring
-Volunteered at local youth soccer camp all 4 years
-Inducted into National Honor Society as a Junior
-On the National Honor Roll
-Member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)
-Founder/co-President of French Club
-Volunteered at my church
-Volunteer at a local hospital
-Participated in Relay for Life
-Participated in United Way Drive Day
-Organized a shoe collection for "soles 4 souls"
-Was offered a summer long paid internship at the cleveland clinic, but couldn't take it for transportation reasons (HUGE regret)
-Pretty confident that I have strong recommendations
-Good application essay(I think)
-Recently signed up for an interview
-Probably don't need financial aid (It's sad, but it may give me an edge)
So, do you guys think I have a chance??? Or will my horrible tests scores just kill me?? They've always been my weakness!! ;O

is 3.9- 4.0 weight or unweight? Also AP scores? SAT II scores?
Duke, Cornell, JHU, WashU= reach/high reach
wake forest= slight reach
don't know about ohio state.

My GPA is unweighted....is probably a 4.0+. I haven't taken any of my AP exams yet(i'll take them in May), and I didnt take any SAT IIs.

I agree with Linnus. OSU is a safe match.

whoa...ur a senior? you haven't taken any sat II? correct me if I'm mistaken...but i recall some of those schools required at least 2 SAT IIs?

All but Ohio State are reaches. Also, it is essential to take at least 2 SAT IIs for the schools you're looking at. I believe that they do require them.

^^^ They may take the ACT w/writing in lieu of SAT IIs. That's just a guess, though...I'm too lazy to look it up.

I think your scores reflect poorly on the competitiveness of your school (i.e. grade inflation); standardized scores, after all, are used in part to guage your school in relation to others across the nation. Does your school have a good rapport with top colleges or is it relatively unknown to them?

um i don't know..they weren't necessary if you had the ACT w/writing..they were just suggested..i think

and no...i don't think anyone from my school has ever went to a top college...someone went to dartmouth once

I would say Wake is a match. I think they take ACT now.

Duke is a reach, but it's a reach for just about everybody.

Im glad if they take ACT, bc i got some 35s on random sections. Ya, I know tonsss of my schools are reaches, but who knows?? ;)
