Free Colleges?

I am currently a high school junior. I have just started my college search process and started by looking at schools nearby. Temple was one of the first ones I visited, and one of the more interesting things I learned there was that they had guaranteed full tuition if you had certain test scores. I know that there are many colleges who give merit based scholarships, but what are some that have guaranteed levels of merit if you meet a criteria? I have not been able to find any information about this anywhere online and was hoping someone might know some other schools that offer full rides. Thanks!!!

If you do well on the PSATs and become a National Merit Semifinalist or Finalist, many schools will offer you full or half tuition. I think that Northeastern and USC offer half tuition, and the University of Arizona - Tulsa is also pretty generous. You can Google lists of schools that offer National Merit Scholarships.

Alabama is notorious for this. But here is a list of some other schools that offer guaranteed merit: http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/

Notorious? As if that’s a bad thing? More that Alabama is famous for it.

@NoVADad99 that’s what I meant…how could that possibly be a bad thing? Alabama’s scholarships are awesome! Bad word choice on my part.

Just remember that full tuition doesn’t mean free. There is still room and board, books, travel, and personal expenses. Some schools include fees in the free tuition and some don’t.
