Freshman Calc II vs. Calc III

So I've heard that Calc II in UVA is a weed out class for math majors.

I'm not a math major (I'm majoring in Neuroscience) but I love math and would love to take higher level math courses in college. I took a special class last year as a junior in which we learned AP Calc BC but we took the AB test. This year, we're learning Calc 3 but I'm taking the Calc BC test. The Calc 3 course covered in the current class is not very in dept so I'm definitely going to take Calc 3 in college. Obviously, I got a 5 on AB last year I get high As in my current Calc class. Also, I score nearly perfect on our practice AP BC exam, last week.

My major concern is whether I should take Calc 2 or 3 for my first college math course. If Calc 2 is a weed out class, then it's not worth it but I don't want to bombard myself with a lot of work (and stress) the first semester.

Can any current UVA students give me any suggestions?

Skip Calc II and take Calc III next semester with either Krushkal or Kuhn. Avoid Abdlessam. Differential Equations with Tom Kriete is another solid choice for a first math class at UVA.

Don’t take Calc II. In addition, you have to apply to U.Va.'s Neuroscience major so you won’t find out for 2 years or so.

agree with all advice above, take calc 3. or take any other math class, since calc 2 is the req for almost all of them. you could take prob/stat with calc if you are looking to brush up on your calc. lots of double integrals etc.
