My S is currently looking at the Academic Planning Guide and is having a difficult time deciding on freshman courses for the fall. Any good suggestions from current students or recent grads would be greatly appreciated. He likes philosophy, music, etc. However;outstanding professors in any discipline would be appreciated advice.

If/when he's gotten his Wesleyan computer username and password he might want to go check out http://esquid.wesleyan.edu, a student-only course reviews site.

I'm an astronomy major -- the department has some pretty cool classes for non-science majors that fulfill the NSM GenEd expectation. I know a lot of people who are not inclined to math/science at all who really liked Descriptive Astronomy (ASTR 105) or The Universe (ASTR 107).

My FYI was "Religions Resist Modernity" (RELI 381) with Peter Gottschalk, which I also recommend highly.

Thank you xmatt for a highly informative site
