What are the best freshman dorms on campus?
They all have pluses and minuses. My Eagle was glad to not be on the Newton campus last year but then she spent most weekends taking the bus to parties there. As a mom I would not have been happy to have her in a forced triple. And the response from BC on why it places freshmen in forced triples was condescending (has to do with placing all upperclass students in BC housing but I’m apparently too stupid to understand the connection.)
the Frosh dorm rooms are all very similar in size. The only difference is the ‘forced triples’. BC does make a strong effort to de-triple those rooms as the year progresses.
Plenty of threads on cc discussing Newton vs Upper. Short-answer is that it doesn’t seem to affect the college experience one way or another.
Hey! I’m a Freshman @ BC and I’m currently in a forced triple on Upper Campus. It really isn’t so bad if you get along with your roommates. I don’t really go back to the dorm until the evening, but when I’m there, it’s cozy and not too bad.
I think the outlook on the forced triple really depends on how well you get along with your roommates and how comfortable you are with limited space.
