I know that transfer admission is often contingent upon the number of students that study abroad in the following year, and the number of students who do not return (ie drop out). I know that MIT has had overcrowding issues...So I was wondering if the number of incoming freshmen who matriculate with MIT will have any effect on my chances for transfer admission. When exactly does MIT need to know a student's decision? I don't find out until May or June; is this before or after the confirmation date for freshmen? Thanks.
