The school says the freshman meal plan is included in the price. Are they referring to the price of tuition room and board that is on their web site for 2010-2011? Does that price include the recent increase?

Here’s the current information posted on JMU’s site: [James Madison University - University Business Office](http://www.jmu.edu/ubo/rates/2010-11.shtml)

I asked at CHOICES about the default to 14 meals per week – I would have thought that they’d go with 19 for freshmen. The young lady who had dinner with us said that virtually everyone went with just the 14 – there are enough places around campus for snacks that most kids eat just breakfast or lunch every day and fill in as needed.

I think I would keep something easy in my refrigerator for breakfast, and have a big late breakfast/lunch, and then dinner.

Sounds like a common thing to do. Dining halls are open from 7 to 10 for breakfast and from 11 to 2 for lunch, so you can stop in almost any time.
