I am a freshman in highschool looking into going to Stanford Medical program. I need some tips on how to get in. I go to a blue ribbon school and slacked off this freshman year. Sadly, I got a 3.6 GPA first semester but plannning on getting a 4.0 or 3.8 GPA this semster. However, I am taking the highest classes that are available for freshmen ( Adv. Algebra 2, Biology, Advanced English etc...). I don't know if Stanford looks at your freshman year. I play spanish guitar and have beeen playing for one and a half years. I am plannig to go into MC competitions in my sophmore year. I am very passionate about debate and have achieved the most awards out of all the debate team this year and holding the school record for most debate points as a freshman. I am the only freshman this year who has gotten an award in all three of the speech and debate categories. I am planning on doing volunteer for hands for hope and hospital volunteering. I am going to be the debate co-captain next year. I am also religiously active and go to youth group regularly and am hoping to take a leadership position in my sophmore or junior year. I am also on the tennis team and plan on being on the team for my whole highschool career. Next year I am taking the only two AP classes availabe for sophmores and the highest classes available. This year I procrastinated a lot and have messed up my ranking because of my two B's. I am very passionate about the things I am involved in and plan to work harder next year to obtain a 4.28 GPA. I was wondering if Stanford looks at your unweighted GPA or your freshman year. I am planning on going into a 7 or 8 year med program. Tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
