Freshman or sophomore?

Would i be considered a freshman or sophomore?

I'm graduating from hs a semester early so I would graduate in December and then I'm going to continue on to community college and, apply for transfer at ut austin hopefully, hopefully get in. And i'm going to community college right now so I can get some credits and I will continue during the fall semester since my workload in hs will be extremely light(2 classes)

It might sound stupid, but I don't look at me going to community college being as me being a freshman, I don't know why. I would like to go to UT austin, for liberal arts(political science) and join a sorority.

Would I be considered a freshman or sophomore? cause I wouldn't mind being a freshman lol

So hypothetically, if my plan works out, what would I be considered?

Off topic but…
Hmm…I might be wrong, but I think you can only transfer to UT if you have 30+ credit hours. So be careful.

Yes you will need at least 30 hours to transfer to UT.

Your official status is based on the number of credit of hours you have. If you have less than 30 hours, you are officially classified as a freshman. You’ll be walking in to UT with 30+ hours so you’ll be officially classified as a sophomore, or if you have 60+, a junior. However, most people don’t really care what your official status is. Your year is used by most people to determine what classification you are. For example, if you are graduating in the year 2015, then presently you would be considered a freshman since you are a first year student.

I know I need 30 credit hours. I’ve worked it out already
