Freshman Physics?

Hello all?

My predicted major is computer science, a part of engineering. So are there must-have courses for engineering majors?

Well, let me tell you about my anxiety. I only got a 700 on SAT II Physics, and am not that good at this subject. But I heard it is one of the must-haves, so I am afraid I might have a hard time doing well once at Cornell.

Is that so? How about this if I study and complete every single concept in Princeton Review SAT II prep book, the only book I have so far in English?

PS: I am kind of good at mathematics, so hopefully not afraid at all.

I'm not sure about CS majors, but generally you're required to take 3 physics courses: 112 (mechanics), 213 (heat and E&M), and 214 (waves). I didn't take SAT II physics so I don't know, but 112 wasn't that bad. A couple of my friends came in without ever having taken physics, and they got Bs. I'd imagine studying SAT II physics would help you get the basics down, but an AP review book might cover more in depth. If you're looking to learn ahead, then it might help to get one. Having a good feel for calculus will help, since some problems require some integration. 213 has been a little harder, but not terrible.

Thank you Myarmin! Now that I am less anxious about my poor physics.
