freshman social life

<p>I was wondering what the social life is for freshman at Columbia. I have heard and read that there is not a sense of community as Columbia is in the city and most people leave campus. Also, while it is great that it is so diverse, I wonder if is hard to feel connected because the student body is so diverse. Would it be hard for a girl from the midwest or south to feel a sense of connection?</p>
