Freshman spring transfers

How competitive is the transfer process for mid-year freshmen? The website says freshmen with a good high school record who have never applied before might be admitted, but I was wondering how often it happens and how many freshmen they typically admit.

Vassar tries to keep each class at a certain number of students, so the number of spots available and thus the selectivity of the transfer process depends on how many students from that class have left the college in the previous year. The admissions committee looks for the same qualities in a transfer student as they do in regular admits; beyond that it’s a matter of luck.

Transfers are always hard and a toss up as they usually only accept a couple every year. try for a 4.0 first semester and hope for the best. Even if you are qualified you might not get in because they really can only let in like 3-5 kids.

good luck.

cheers
