PLEASE CHANCE ME!!!

yale - no
brown, northwestern, duke - reach
rest - chance if you write good essays

keep in mind that LACs usually don’t take many transfers, so bowdoin is also a reach (also because it’s a great school).

thanks so much! do you think i have a shot at cornell?

more people go ahead and chance me!

cornell quite possibly depending on the college/major you apply to. what are you thinking of?

i’m trying to major in gov/ir (something along those lines) so whatever college (i don’t know the name)

you’d be applying to arts and sciences for those. hmm it’ll still be a bit of a reach, but if you write solid essays, you could have a shot for sure.

thanks. what schools do you recommend that I aim for?

more people, go ahead chance me.

http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf

Don’t be misled by Cornell’s stats: The College of Arts and Sciences accepts about 10% of external transfers. Likewise, there are a number of guaranteed transfers who are included in the number of acceptances.

It’s spelled input, not imput (and chief, not cheif), and frankly I don’t see you being competitive for the Ivy League/top 20 schools. Your SATs are weak and your college GPA is pretty mediocre (relative to your competitors in the transfer pool). Your URM status will help, but to what extent is unclear.

Politics at NYU CAS, hmm. NYU seems like a little bit of a reach for you because of your HS stats, and Politics is a popular CAS major, which matters in transfer admissions. I would still try for NYU, you have a good shot.

Okay, so I’m driving myself crazy and getting myself confused. Plus, I’m sure this question’s been asked on cc, I just don’t feel like thumbing through hundreds of threads. Hopefully this doesn’t sound stupid, but…

I’m currently a freshman and after my freshman year I’ll have earned 36 credits. If I’m planning on transferring for the fall 2010 semester, am I considered a sophomore or freshman transfer?

oops. sorry guys. I meant to make a new thread with my previous post. ha ha.
