I'm a freshman at a top high school in the nation. What advice should i have to get into a top college

There are literally BUNCHES of threads on how to prepare yourself for top colleges.
I’ m no expert, but most people would tell you:

1) Get As in every classes

2) Take the rigorous classes-Honors, AP or IB-that you can handle. Don’t take the ones you are not sure that you can manage.

3) Concentrate in one or a few activities. Don’t be a member of everything-like, “I am a member of 10 clubs” won’t help
you. Win something like awards/medals in state/national levels. Or, you can start something on your own in high school and make it bigger. Or, compete in competition in which your interest lies and win stuff

4) prepare for SAT/ACT and Subject tests.
If you have time during Freshmen year, I recommend taking subject tests this year. It saves time during junior/senior year, the busies years in high school. That’s what I did and I got 800 in Math 2 and Chemistry.
*Make sure to check websites if the schools require specific tests. For example, MIT requires 1 math Subject test and
1 science subject test.
Try to get at least 2200+ in SAT or 34+ in ACT.

5) Write good essays.

6) Don’t look at the top colleges just for their prestige. Find schools on your own that you like.
