Brooklynborndad - you had me at “Haight”

Here’s that book/blog/empire - until I googled it, I didn’t realize how this kid turned it into basically a “job”

[One Week Job | discover your passion](http://www.oneweekjob.com/)

Brooklynborddad: Hey we hung out there together…neat…far out!

that one week job thing was really cool.

another thing that inspired me is the MTV show burried life. its a show where a bunch of college guys go around and complete tasks off their bucket list like kiss the girl of their dreams, get in a fight, escape from a deserted island, etc…

you can watch episodes online. really good show.

i need to do something like the oneweekjob or burried life. i want to think of my own idea similar to that… im not feeling passionate about the direction my life is in right now and need some sort of adventure.

Here’s an idea. Stay in school. Apply now for a retail job between semesters. Believe me, retail is anything but dull. Then start making plans for next summer. Work at a resort in Alaska or Maine or anywhere that is different from home.

You sound depressed. Have you spoken with a psychologist/psychiatrist?

Life’s short. Take risks, but always strive to increase your options rather than decrease them. You’ll need a bit of time to identify and explore the available options anyway, so in the interim finish the quarter or semester. Maybe some of the following info will help jump start your search…

Applying to the Peace Corps takes anywhere from 6-12 months, and “ninety percent of volunteer positions require a bachelor’s degree,” according to [the Peace Corps’ website.](http://www.peacecorps.gov/) Review the site for more details.
