Hey everyone. Since Bucknell is so heavily focused on Greek Life and freshmen can’t rush is there ever a lack of fun things to do or parties to go to? I know girls can always get into frat parties but for the guys it seems like freshman year may be quiet. Can anyone speak on this issue?

While I can’t speak in specifics (because what 18 year old boy is going to tell their mother everything that happens on a college campus), I can tell you that my son has never once complained about Bucknell being quiet for freshman boys or there being nothing to do. And from the pictures I see posted on Facebook - it sure looks like he is having PLENTY of fun!

I’m sure the freshman boys are not totally shut out of the parties. After all, these are the same students that the fraternities are trying to get to join their fraternity at the beginning of sophomore year. I know my son has had enough contact with the various fraternities to have narrowed down his list of which ones he is interested in pursuing next year.

Hopefully a Bucknell student will come along and answer your question more fully.
