Friendliest colleges?

I'm a senior in high school in the midwest and some of my friends back from college remark how they miss the 'Minnesota nice.' I'm starting to get concerned about my college choices! Which schools tend to be the frendliest? Are any of the following lacking in warmth? (Tulane, Penn State, Boston U, Oxy, Colorado C) Thanks!

One reason to go away to college is to experience a different environment. I do not know anything about Minnesota nice, but I would think you have mentioned some colleges that will be much different that what you are used to. Extended campus visits are definitely worthwhile.

Are you looking for a big university or a smaller liberal arts college? You will not find the warmth and friendliness at a university that you will find at some...and I emphasize some...LACs. You get more personal attention from faculty and people tend to be nicer in general.

My daughter thought the students at Tulane were quite friendly - she was invited to go sailing with the sailing club (pre-hurricane).
