From '20 to '21-'23: a Thread of Advice

Hey! I was looking through past threads and I couldn’t find one that was just a bunch of current seniors giving advice to current juniors/underclassman. So here it is! This is for STUDENTS only! Parents, as much as we appreciate y’all, sometimes it comes better from a peer, so only post in here if its advice directly from your student please.

I’ll start: Start finalizing your list of schools by the end of junior year. So many of my friends were still figuring out where they wanted to apply by the time EA/ED deadlines rolled around. If you finalize your list early, you can get started on supplements and maybe take a tour or two over the summer.

Apply early wherever you can. I applied and got into ASU rolling, UIUC and Purdue EA, and Princeton SCEA. Now I’ve withdrawn everywhere but MIT, Cal, and UCLA.

It gives you tremendous peace of mind.
