Frrrrrrrrrrrrench

French AP Monday!

Any vets out there with advice/comments on the test? Is it really as hard as they say? How comfortable about how you did when you left the test? How much did you prepare/How good is the language program at your school? What score did you get? What about the people you know?

Oh, come on... SOMEONE must have taken this exam...

i wanna kno too!!! BUMP

It is very very easy. Honestly, I finished the MC section 20 min early and the essay was on a very generic topic. I haven't studied either, apart from tuning into the teacher's ramble once in a while.
It is a bit harder than SAT II, naturally, but it is the easiest AP exam I have taken.
Good luck.

Woo hoo! that's a bit of a relief. :D

That's good to hear. I'm kind of worried about the reading, though...

what about the speaking section? does anyone know anything about the curve?

Could someone please clue us in on the curve?

I took a previous year test paper and averaged 85%, what is this on the AP scale? is it a 5 or a 4?

The curve changes evey year, but I have the one from 1998 right here:

5- 121-160
4- 106-120
3- 82-105
2- 59-81
1- 0-58

If you want the specifics on how many points each section is worth:
Listening- 40 points
Reading Comprehension- 40 points
Function Words- 8 points
Verbs- 8 points
Essay- 24 points
Oral- 40 points (20 for each part)

Again, it changes slightly every year, but this is just to give you a general idea of what you need to get a 5. Hope this helps!

"Oral- 40 points (20 for each part)"

You mean 20 for telling the story, and 20 for answering the questions following it?

no. theres 2 different sets of pictures you have to analyze. one is the story and the 3 questions following it, and the other one is the comparison of two pictures and the 3 questions following it

Just a minor correction: it's 3 questions, then 2, or 2 questions, then 3. Not 6. :)
