FSU Film School - 2018 Applicants

For any transfers wondering, I hear decisions will be out tomorrow (April 2nd) afternoon. Phone calls will be made along with emails. Good luck to everyone!

Have any other freshmen not heard back from FSU?

@jrcheeseburger Just wondering if you made it in?

I haven’t heard back yet. Apparently, someone is quite sick and decisions have been indefinitely postponed. Though one of the people in my interview group has already gotten the call. As well as one other person that I don’t know personally. It’s been a bit anxiety-inducing but I’ll let you know soon after I find out!

@jrcheeseburger So they haven’t made all of their final decisions yet? I’ve heard of a couple people being called for their acceptances, and they interviewed the same day as me. I’m still waiting, though.

@awkwardambition They have not made all decisions yet. One person I interviewed with was already accepted. From what I hear there are still six spots left. I’m not sure why it has taken so long considering we were supposed to know April 1st. But, surely we’ll know eventually. Apparently, today or tomorrow, more calls will be made. This information may be wrong but it’s just what I got from someone who knows a couple film students who know the admissions people. It’s super stressful but it’ll make for a good story one day regardless haha.

@jrcheeseburger I called Gloria yesterday and she finally told me I was on the waitlist. And I agree with you- they said April 1st and wouldn’t even let me know I was on the waitlist (idk how high up though) until I called them first. She said I may know within the next couple weeks, but tbh I’m tired of waiting. I just want them to tell me if they want me or not!

Dear students. My daughter will be applying to the Film School for next year. She is already working on her Personal Journey and Writing Sample statements. Any pointers, tips, etc. that you may provide will be greatly appreciated. Good luck to you all and fingers crossed on your acceptance.

Pump out a solid essay. I worked on mine since February of the year before applying. Knowing your daughter is doing the essay so much in advance seems like a great indicator. Make sure the essay is true to her. She should know by reading it if it reallyyyyyyy sounds like her. I could send you my essay via email if you provide me an email to send it to. I’d say my essay wasn’t perfect but it was 100% true to me. Actually just give me an email and I’ll type up absolutely all my knowledge on the process. I’m currently at work but I’ll type it up tonight and send it by at least tomorrow. I wanna do all I can help cause I know what a downer it is to get rejected after the interview haha

I’ve been reading your string of messages regarding the Film School application process and like Foram above my son is also applying for 2019. I’d love any insight / tips you could offer him. My email is karen@josloff.com if you have time to forward any advice our way. Appreciate your time and wish you all the best in your endeavors.
Karen Josloff.

@jrcheeseburger Hey! I’m currently a transfer student trying to apply for Animation. Wondering if I can pick your brain?

Did your daughter an interview this year?
