Full Tuition scholarships

So I know that the ROTC scholarship is Full Tuition, but do you know if that means just the tuition (so they give you $32,000 per year) or if it also covers room and board and stuff?

Full Tuition Scholarships cover all tuition and fees. So for a Columbia Student such as yourself you will receive approximately $35,000 per year.
You will have to pay for Room and Board.
BUT!! You also receive $400-$500 per month in non-taxable stipend plus $900 per year for books.

Cool thanks. How did you like ROTC when you did it? I assume that you are on active duty? What is your job like?

ROTC was great! I had a chance to study and learn things I would never have been able to do in another class at Columbia - leadership, management, strategic planning and analysis, ethics, international law...and it gave me the opportunity to become a military OFFICER. Right after graduation you are given a COMMAND POSITION, leading a unit of 30 - 60 people!
I chose active duty, but have a number of friends (even some Columbia students) who decided to become reserve officers which means they work part time for the Army and hold civilian careers as well. One is an architect, another is a lawyer.
There are also tons of different management jobs and command positions you can hold - in the infantry, in aviation, in law, in logistics, in medicine and nursing, in artillery, even in transportation. Did you know for example that the Army has one of the world's largest fleets of boats, and has numerous sealifting capabilities? The Army Corps of Engineers does all of the planning and maintenance for the New York Harbor and its Port system. So there is lots of cool stuff you can do.

Does anyone know if each branch of the military gives full tuition for Columbia students or just the Army? I have an interview with a navy recruit about the scholarship pretty soon and would like to know if the Navy ROTC is offered at Columbia.
