Really? I really like Wake, but I thought Furman's campus was more attractive.

Both have solid academics. One can find a good social scene at either, but Wake has an advantage in athletics. Wake also has a much better surrounding area, in my opinion. Greenville isn't very exciting.

Wake would have the stronger academic reputation - Furman's reputation is probably more regional, though Furman is an excellent LAC with an unusual emphasis in music performance. Both social scenes are "Greeky"; I think the scene at Wake is somewhat wetter than at Furman. Winston-Salem and Greenville are quite similar cities in many ways. Two of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S.

I agree with gadad's assessment. I can't imagine a more well maintained, cleaned, beautifully landscaped and organized campus than Furman. I attented the Naval Academy and in alot of ways the landscaping at Furman reminds me of USNA. Academics are very good. You will never have an assitant at Furman teach you and internships are plentiful.

thanks for all of the replies. :)

In my opinion, Wake is more nationally recognized. Both have beautiful campuses. Both are heavily Greek. Wake one can move off campus as a junior--not sure about Furman (is it 4 yr. residential?). Winston-Salem (again my opinion) may be in a better location geographically--on the I-40 corridor with many other schools fairly close by--Elon, Chapel Hill, Duke, NC State.
