My status is FRR. SAT is 1550, SATII U.S. History 790, Literature 740. Weighted GPA is 4.5. Straight A’s for all of high school. Applied as a US High School student to the Faculty of Arts.
I don’t really know why I was deferred, but could it have to do with my scholarship application? I recently sent in my application for a major entrance scholarship, nearly two months after I applied, and have yet to send teacher recommendations. Did they defer me since I didn’t complete the application?; I know I was supposed to submit the application shortly after my overall McGill application.
Honestly, I just need some insight as to why my application needs further review. I thought I was a shoo-in for McGill, but maybe that’s me being cocky.
Thank you!
Additional Question: Should I send my first marking period grades (Straight A’s) or wait until the end of January to send my first semester grades, which will also be straight A’s? I know it says to send the latter, but apparently American students sent first marking period grades.
My D is in the exact same boat. If you look through the Decisions thread http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/mcgill-university/2036390-mcgill-decisions-class-of-2022-entering-2018-p1.html you’ll see that this is very common; moreso than in previous years, it seems. Very few, if any acceptances have been granted (here on CC anyway) without some sort of interim grades. I don’t think it would hurt to send your first marking period grades, but you may still need to send the semester grades in January. You should be accepted with your stats; it will just require some patience.
