Future of Computer Science Major?

Hi, I am a high school senior who was accepted to Georgia Tech @ College of Computing.

There has been a sharp increase in students taking computer science, and I am wondering if the computer science majors will still be in high demand after four to six years. Looking at the trend of many high school seniors declaring their majors as computer science, I am uncertain about the promising average starting salary of computer science graduates.

You can probably expect at least 60k starting salary for software engineers. And the profession is definitely growing again. It hit a small lull after the dot com crash of 2002, but software developers are in very high demand again.

I’m a software engineer (and I didn’t even do CS in school) and I get at least 5 recruiters messaging me on LinkedIn a month with job possibilities. We are definitely in demand at the moment.

Just look at how many entry level computer science jobs are listed nationwide:

Thanks. My college implied that I will get at least a two job offers, but I wasn’t sure how it would be in four years after graduation due to consistent increase in computer science majors.
