Question #2: I was given Regents and I heard a few weeks ago. There’s a thread on people who have been awarded scholarship. The last post was 2/20 so they could be handing them out still; I’m not sure. When I received mine, I was emailed after I had been admitted and received a letter in the mail SEPARATE from the admissions packet.

Had you already sent your official High School transcript when they gave you the scholarship, or did they give it to you based off of your application?

I’m pretty sure there are make up tests for the MAE. If I remember correctly, last year during orientation in the summer, they set up a time frame for those who hadn’t taken the MAE or the EWLR yet. So if you cannot make it to any of the MAE test dates, I’m pretty sure you can take it during orientation. Unless they changed it for this year’s orientation, you might want to email them, just in case. Otherwise, you can wait until Orientation to take it.

Yes, you can make up the MAE at orientation. Keep in mind though that if you took ap calculus and passed, you do not need to take it. But it is great to have as a back up. Be sure to bring your ap scores to registration as well. The only major problem with not taking the MAE in time is that you cannot register for any math classes until you do. If you have made a growl account you can check you award status there. They usually send you something in the mail or let you know if you have a scholarship. And you cannot change you major until orientation. But if you want to change your major, go ahead and email your academic advisor. They will help you through the process. Best of luck and welcome to the campus. :)

According to the UCR website, you will be able to take the MAE at other locations in Ca. They will release the alternate places and dates in April. Maybe one of the off campus dates/places is better for your schedule. Or wait until orientation as mentioned above.

I believe that you can change your major before going to UCR, but I would wait until you will be on-campus to go and change. It’s easier that way because you can go to your academic adviser and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.

i changed my major over the summer online on myucr.edu right during orientation. im not sure if the class of 2015 has myucr.edu, but it was super easy for me.
