Gaming Scene At Williams

Hi everyone!

I was just accepted to Williams under Early Decision! Yay!

I was wondering, would any current students or recent alumni be able to report on the video gaming scene at Williams? I haven't been able to find much info online, nor did I see any video game clubs on the website's directory.

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely thrilled to be attending Williams next year. I'm just a bit afraid that, being a very heavy gamer, i'll be a fish out of water.

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see some of you next year!

You should have applied to Mudd instead. :)

Oh thank god someone else is wondering this too! I got in as well and looked up the same info last night with the same results, and was particularly concerned with the apparently unreliable internet connection.

Haha, I was intent on staying on the east coast, intparent. :p

Siyker, we should be ok as long as we bring our own ethernet cables. Hopefully we can find some other like-minded people :p

Hey, I will be applying to Williams RA. I definitely have a decent chance at getting in. I’m just interested in what games you guys will be playing? SC2? LoL???

Definitely LoL for me.

Hey I’m a Lol player at Williams and although we are not officially recognized by the college there is a Lol group at the college that is approximately 50 people, there is a Fb page. The group is great and I’ve been able to make quite a few friends through it. The group is more active during winter break and winter study. There are not many high elo players at Williams, I’m not one them either (silver iii)Feel free to add me summoner name is suppernubz

Sure thing, man! Would you mind linking me to the facebook page?

Do you guys have viewing parties for the professional games?

Bump for justice!

I will say that Super Smash Bros: Melee is probably the single most popular game on campus, although there’s definitely a fair share of FIFA involved too. Other than that, nothing is really mainstream. You can definitely find people who play other games, but most people find that they don’t have time to play as much video game time as they did in high school.

Dota 2? Anyone?
I was recently admitted to Williams. PM me if you are short of players.
