Hi guys,
I will transfer to GAtech on Spring 2018 after graduating from GSU with associate degree. My major right now is Chemistry, and my GPA is 4.0. I am confidently sure that my GPA will be 4.0 until I apply to transfer on August 2017. I will change my major to Biochemistry when I transfer there. However, I have a problem about my academic record.
Before I moved to the U.S, I had attended to a Vietnamese University of Medicine which requires 6 years to complete courses to be a MD for one year (2013-2014). It affects to my HOPE scholarship because they count my hours attempt with that one year which is totally 44 credits (2 semesters). It is still okay for me, but my GPA at that university is only 3.38 which is really bad in my opinion to transfer to Gatech. My courses include many Biology classes (all Bs) and Chemistry (A). All the courses from this school are not transferable.
I am worry that Gatech will consider my GPA from GSU or combination of these 2 GPAs together. If so, will I have any chance to transfer to Gatech? Because I cannot do anything to up my GPA now.
Right now, my hours attempted is 68. I believe after one semester in GA tech, my eligibility for HOPE will end. How can I get scholarship if I can attend GAtech?
Has anyone had the same situation with me?
Please give me some advices.
Thank you.
