<p>When looking at posts from previous years, it seems everyone who got it received an email and a letter with followup information. Some people received a call. Some people figured out they received it earlier by calling the number and hearing a message saying they had to submit 5 documents to Gates. It also seemed that some people got an email on the 7th and others didn’t get emails until the 11th and 12th.</p>

<p>I think it’s safe to say that it could be any number of ways and times that we find out. The best thing to get an idea of how things are moving is for everyone to .post their updates so people can get an idea of where they might be in the process</p>

<p>The one thing I could figure out from previous posts was if your message said 0 of 5 documents received you definitely got finalist or but if it said your letter was in the mail that you didn’t get finalist. No one in previous posts seemed to confirm that a letter in the mail message meant you didn’t make finalist though many alluded to it. </p>

<p>So once again, I think it’s going to be a waiting game and we should just post what we know to the cc family as we know it.</p>

<p>That is exactly what my message had. The message said that a letter had been sent and that 0 of 5 documents were needed to complete my file. Sounds like this may be good news…excited, nervous and I don’t want to get my hopes up.</p>

<p>Everyone who got that message in the past, posted that they were finalist and it wouldn’t make sense to tell you to send verification documentation if you were not. I think it’s safe to say that you can let the celebrating begin!</p>

<p>Just don’t forget to post when you get your email so others will know.</p>

<p>I heard that someone from another high school from my city got the email saying he was a finalist. I want to call but I’m scared, I haven’t heard of anyone else that has been notified though. Hoping for the best!</p>

OMG you guys congrats whoever got the 0-5 docs message. I think that definitely means you’re a finalist. When I was reading through last year’s thread it seemed like a ton of them got their message on the same day.</p>

<p>No one really knows Jasosa. That’s the really vague part and I don’t think we’ll really know until we get the letters. I have one son who is getting the 0-5 message and one who is getting a letter has been mailed so obviously we’re hoping it doesn’t mean that as well.</p>

<p>I hope this issue about the 5 documents can be clarified as soon as possible. I’m not gonna lie I feel very discouraged.</p>

<p>@ jasosa: Don’t read too much into it. The 2011-2012 message board had some individuals that didn’t get the 0-5 msg and still were named finalist. Wait for the official email or letter.</p>

<p>And that is the best advice for those who are getting the letter is mailed message. I think anything else will drive you crazy.</p>

<p>So I got the “letter in the mail” message! No “0 of 5 documents” message :frowning: <em>Sigh</em> I’m so disappointed I worked so hard on my essays! :frowning: Expecting that rejection! Gahhh I shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions… I’M JUST FREAKINGGG OUT.</p>
