Gates Millennium Scholarship 2013-2014

Hello folks. Thank you for those that relay information from Facebook. I currently cannot access Facebook from where I am, so any continued postings of insightful info from FB will be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

If you are African american or you hear if someone is African american and they received a notification regardless of if they got it or not, could you post it here. Thanks!

Has anyone in North America heard anything yet about their status?

no :(

UPDATE:

The only students who have received notification thus far fall under the Asian/Pacific Islander category. Furthermore, Saipan is still the only region to have been notified.

We may very well be waiting for further decisions in the coming week. Everyone relax. Chances are there is still plenty of time left until our decisions are out.

My friend just informed me that she is a finalist. She received a letter (no email) in the mail informing her of this. I, however, have not received anything. We both live in Maryland, and she is under UNCF and I’m under the Hispanic Fund. Perhaps the branches are sending letters out at different times

Got my letter in the mail for the Hispanic category.

FINALIST!!! From DC, I got mine from the UNCF

Edit: Also it was by mail and dated March 3rd

congrats @swatBoy and @Shutterstock

Wow now I am nervous

The pressure is on…

oh god i am about to go check my mail right now… wish me luck!

@saraswati143 did you receive anything?

Anybody get a letter saying they weren’t a finalist?

@Shutterstock First off, I’m assuming your letter stated you were a finalist. If so, congrats!!! Secondly, can you share the region you’re in? I’m assuming the DC area… Or at least the northeast???

@GMSTXLglGrdn
Yep, I am a finalist. I’m actually in the Southern California area.

Finally made a CC account! Congrats to the finalists so far. I’m so nervous because I still haven’t received anything (I’m in Georgia). Hoping for good news, and good luck to everyone

congrats

@dshoneye I am in Georgia too. If you don’t mind what ethnicity are you. I am African/American

@Krazed2014 Same.

Guys, if you are Hispanic, I’m guessing you will receive your decision from the Hispanic College Fund which is located in LA. If you are AA, you will be receiving it from the United Negro College Fund, which is in DC.

So that explains why we got ours early.

No word yet for my daughter here in Louisiana…waiting on UNCF
