My top 5 prediction was right.

For you guys with more football knowledge. If we won the last national championship and have the number one recruiting class; why are we rank 3rd and not 1st?

The reason for USC being number 1 is that they have 10 players returning to their already great defense. They also have a pretty good offense and some great receivers. Not so sure about LSU though, especially after they lose Jamarcus

Losing most of our team after the championship hurts a lot. Our defense is the main reason why we aren't ranked 1 or 2. Our offense is the best in the nation, with USC a slight edge. Percy Harvin and Andre Caldwell will be the greatest receiving duo in the country. However, our defense took a serious hit with the losses of Reggie Nelson, Jarvin Moss, Ray McDonald, Brandon Siler, and Ryan Smith. Tebow is talented, but he's inexperienced, so that's another negative in the polls. We have a great recruiting class, but it takes time to develop that talent. I believe we should have been ranked #2 after USC, but it doesn't matter, it's a preseason poll.
